Welcome to the Phoenix FC Competitive Youth Program (U12 to U19), where experienced young athletes elevate their game to new heights! Our program is designed for brave players who live and breathe soccer, unafraid of mistakes and dedicated to continual learning.

Youth Competitive FAQ

  • Assessments: Aug. 24-28

    Kick-Off Weekend: Sep. 11-13

    Youth Competitive programs will feature pre-season from: Sep. 21 - Oct. 8

  • Season Dates: Oct. 19 - Feb. 25

    (As determined by EMSA Schedule)

    Youth Competitive programs will feature:

    • 1x Game per week

    • 1x Team Training per week

    • 1x Cohort Training per week

  • Teams will compete in the Edmonton Minor Soccer Association (EMSA) Championship. League standings and rules are administered by EMSA.

  • Practice days are determined by EMSA schedule and available Turf Training Centres.

    Practice formats include:

    • Cohort Training (led by Phoenix FC technical staff and supported by Head Coaches)

    • Team Training (led by Head Coach)

  • Games and practice locations are determined by EMSA schedules and the availability of Turf Training Centres.

  • Youth Competitive teams will play either:

    • Boarded 6v6 (5v5 + Keepers)

    • Non-Boarded:

      • U12: 8v8 (7v7 + Keeper)

      • U13: 7v7 (6v6 + Keeper)

      • U15-U19: 9v9 (8v8 + Keeper)

  • U12: There is no post-season for this age group.

    U13-U19: Teams will compete in the EMSA league playoffs and be eligible for the Alberta Soccer Association (ASA) Provincial Championships.

  • Volunteer coaches are utilized at this age group.

    Parents play a big role in our program, taking on the role of Head Coach, Assistant Coach, and/or Team Manager to contribute to the program's overall success.

    • All Coaches should complete all safe sport requirements prior to being rostered (coaching certification costs can be reimbursed).

    • Head Coaches will receive a honorarium should they volunteer to coach their child’s team and complete all mandated coaching requirements. 

    • Sessions will be provided each week by Tech Staff and are to be followed by all coaches.

    • On Field support from our Technical Staff, Jr. Coaches, Jr. Tech and Program Director will also be given at sessions. 

    Please note: In situations where Phoenix FC needs to hire a coach for the team, those additional costs will be incurred and split amongst the team.

  • Jersey is included with registration. Matching shorts and socks must be purchased separately. 

    Additional uniforms or other apparel can be purchased from our Adidas store.

    Please note: A uniform bond will be assessed at the end of the year if the uniform has not been returned on time or in proper condition.

  • $150.00 for 6 hours required

    The Volunteer Bond is not included in program costs and will only be charged to the account if hours are not completed by the deadline.

U12 Competitive (2015) Boys + Girls Programs

  • $1,300.00 (Aug. 1 - Aug. 9)

    EMSA Boarded League Fees: If teams are placed within the EMSA Tier 3 Boarded League, the $200.00 difference in league price will the refunded to registrants.

  • $1,450.00 (Aug. 10-28)

    EMSA Boarded League Fees: If teams are placed within the EMSA Tier 3 Boarded League, the $200.00 difference in league price will the refunded to registrants.

  • Phoenix FC allows for installments of registration fees:

    Season Payment Plan:

    • Initial Payment: $350.00 (Program Fee Deposit)

    • Second Payment: $316.66 (Sept. 30, 2026)

    • Third Payment: $316.66 (Oct. 30, 2026)

    • Fourth Payment: $316.66 (Nov. 30, 2026)

U13 Competitive (2014) Boys + Girls Programs
