Welcome to our Junior Coaching Program, where young Phoenix FC athletes step behind the bench and experience the learning and growth of leading a team!
Within a nurturing and supportive environment, our Junior Coaches grow into themselves, develop their skills, and build confidence. As they progress, they forge strong friendships and gain valuable life lessons that will guide them on their journey. This program lays the foundation for future coaching pathways! Join us as we embark on this exciting adventure of growth, fun, and unforgettable memories.

Junior Coaching Expectations:
Arrive on time and prepared
Be an energetic and positive role model
Work collaboratively with your lead coach and fellow Junior coaches

Junior Coaching Development Pathway
Level 1: Foundations (Ages 12-14)

Work alongside Phoenix FC technical staff and learn the basics of coaching, working with players, and giving instructions.

Placement: U4-U7 Programs
Program Structure:
Shadow experienced coaches
Help with setup and demonstrations
Focus on communication and player engagement

Support Coach (U4-U7)

Internal Coaching Courses
Level 2: Emerging Coaches (Ages 15-17)

Work alongside Phoenix FC technical staff and learn the basics of coaching, working with players, and giving instructions.

Placement: U7-U9 Programs
Program Structure:
Assist in leading warm-ups and small activities
Receive and give feedback
Learn about session planning and safety protocols

Support Coach (U7-U9)

Internal Coaching Courses
Level 3: Lead Junior Coach (16+)

Take the lead on a grassroots roster, and gain hands-on experience of coaching, working with players, and giving instructions.
Support and guidance by experienced Phoenix FC technical staff is available

Placement: U8+ Programs
Program Structure:
Plan and lead small-sided activities
Mentor Level 1 Junior Coaches
Contribute to program evaluation
