RISE AND GRIND
Welcome to Phoenix FC’s Athletic Development Program!
Designed specifically for teen soccer players, Rise & Grind is built to help you move safely, play stronger, and reduce your risk of injury. Across twelve structured sessions, athletes train the physical qualities that directly support performance on the field: hip and knee stability, core strength, balance, acceleration, deceleration, and change-of-direction control.
What Makes Us Special?
Led by Certified Personal Trainer and Group Conditioning Leader, Mel Russell, sessions blend strength, mobility, balance, and conditioning in a way that’s age-appropriate, fun, and challenging for every athlete regardless of skill level, or position on the pitch!
Each and every session is capped off with a structured cooldown and stretch to improve mobility, reduce soreness, and support long-term injury prevention.
Rise and Grind challenges players to learn how to control their bodies under speed and fatigue, which is one of the most effective ways to prevent common soccer injuries like knee strains, hip tightness, and ACL-related issues.

The Details
Suitable for all Phoenix FC athletes aged U13+
Location: Phoenix FC Training Centre
Dates: April 21, 23, 28, 30
May 5, 7, 12, 14, 19, 21, 26, 28
Times: 6:00-7:00 AM
Wear comfortable workout attire (shorts, t-shirt, sweats). Indoor shoes are required in the gym area. Make sure to bring a water bottle!
